Josh is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering degrees from the same department in 2011 and 2012, respectively. Josh’s research focuses on aiding the design of environmentally friendly buildings by providing early-design feedback on their anticipated environmental impacts. He uses a probabilistic approach with energy modeling and life cycle assessment to quantify the variability in predicted energy- and material-related impacts based on the provided level of design detail. Josh has served as Co-Chair of the Graduate Student Council Sustainability Subcommittee and is a member of the Environmental Solutions Initiative Student Advisory Committee. When not doing research or promoting compost collection on campus, he enjoys playing the piano, singing, and running with his family.
