Albert Chen is a PhD candidate in MIT’s Institute for Data, Systems, and Society, advised by Prof. Noelle Selin. He holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and economics from Peking University, where he researched ammonia emissions and developed energy optimization models. At MIT, he co-organizes the CS3 student seminar and leads the 2024 MIT Policy Hackathon’s climate challenge. Outside of research, he enjoys ultimate frisbee and time with his cat.
His current research develops a framework to quantify how organizational climate actions and digital infrastructure growth shape air quality and public health across space, time, and sectors—advancing policy-relevant tools to align decarbonization with environmental outcomes.
