Marc Foster received a bachelor’s in biochemistry and biophysics at Whitman College and a master’s in physical chemistry at the University of Oregon. At Oregon, he received the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. Outside of the lab, he enjoys teaching and mentoring K-12 students, staying busy outdoors, knitting, or doing ceramics.
He researches how bacterial communities work together to degrade and consume plastics to inform design of bioreactors and bio recycling strategies.
