Research Description: High-altitude emissions from aviation contribute not only to climate change through greenhouse gases, but also to the degradation of air quality and human health. My research aims to improve estimates of these downstream impacts by quantifying the total social cost of aviation emissions. By integrating atmospheric modeling with economic and data-driven tools, I evaluate how different technologies, fuels, and operational strategies influence both global climate and local air quality. This work helps policymakers and industry design aviation systems that are not only lower-carbon, but also cleaner and more equitable.
