Danyal Rehman is a PhD candidate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Computational Science and Engineering at MIT. He also holds M.S. and B.A.Sc. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and the University of Toronto, respectively. His research focuses on the development of optimization methods and machine learning models to better infer inter-ionic transport dynamics in multicomponent separation processes. Currently, he is developing mathematical frameworks to model and characterize selective electrochemical systems that enhance lithium recovery and water reclamation from diverse saline sourcewaters. In his free time, he loves to play football, scuba dive, and rock climb.
